Location | France, Trenches |
Entry | RIGHT SUB SECTOR OPPOSITE ST QUENTIN. The weather was fine, sunny at intervals, but with a fresh wind from the South West. The day again passed without any incident of importance. There was a little enemy shelling of our forward areas, and some enemy aerial activity. During the night the Three Patrols as detailed in orders on the 8th again went out into NO MAN'S LAND. No enemy patrols were seen but suspicious noises were heard, investigation of the ground in the direction from which the sounds came however produced no results. The fact was established of the presence in the enemy front line of a watch dog which gave tongue on the approach of one of our patrols, enemy machine gun fire being at once opened. |
