Entry RIGHT SUB SECTOR OPPOSITE ST QUENTIN. The weather was fine and mild, with fair visibility. The Situation was quiet all day and night, a few enemy shells fell in the sector during the afternoon. A Table of Front Line and Resistance Line Posts, showing nature of post and strength was issued. Patrol Orders were published for the night of 8th-9th. Orders for No 1 Patrol were eventually cancelled. Nos 1 and 2 were carried out and information was gained about NO MAN'S LAND, especially CAMEL VALLEY with ruined buildings in it. One enemy patrol was sighted, but on the advance of our patrol it dispersed in the darkness. "C" Company, quartered in BROWN QUARRY, was engaged on the construction of the defences of MANCHESTER HILL.
