Entry | During the day preparations were made for the Regiment to relieve to 2/1 BUCKS BN in the Front Line on the Right of the Brigade Sector. The relief was carried out according to Administrative Instructions issued during the morning and was reported complete at 3.40pm. The Battalion holds 3000 yards of line immediately to the West of St Quentin, which is in German hands. Dispositions are as follows:- "A" Coy on the right and "D" Coy on the left hold the Front Line with 8 posts. "B" Coy to the rear of "D" Coy acts as Counter Attack Coy. "C" Coy is situated in BROWN QUARRY, 1000 yards South of FRANCILLY, and is Passive Defence Coy for the defence of MANCHESTER HILL, 4000 yards West of ST QUENTIN. Battalion Headquarters are at FRANCILLY. The Remainder of the night after the relief passed without incident. The night was very dark, wet and windy. Detailed orders f or work to be carried out during the tour were issued. |
