Entry Enemy aeroplanes flew over the eastern part of the wood from 6.30 to 7.0am and dropped bombs in the neighbourhood of the camp otherwise the day was uneventful, very little artillery taking place on either side. Starting at 10am a party consisting of the Commanding Officer, the Adjutant, Intelligence and Signalling Officers with the four Company Commanders, proceeded to the front line trenches and reconnoitred the Sector which the Battalion is to occupy on the 16th inst. The party returned to Camp by 4.30pm.
