Entry | Our artillery was fairly active during the day and night. Between 2am and 4.30am the enemy put over a large quantity of gas shells which fell in the vicinity of WIELTJE and OXFORD RD. He also set fire to a large very light dump about 800 yards SW of WARWICK FARM. The enemy artillery did a lot of counter battery work during the afternoon, which he continued to shell till 5.15pm. During this period he also carried out an area shoot around WARWICK FARM. At about 7.30pm and 8.30pm he barraged our front line and then valley of the STENEBEEK for about 15 mins with 5.9's, the latter time in response to golden rain signals. Both our own and enemy aircraft were fairly active. Casualties 1 OR killed. |
