Entry The Battalion took part in the attack and capture of the line BIHECOURT - PONNE COPSE. The objective assigned to the Battn was captured with few casualties, the consolidation of a line a few yards E of the BIHECOURT - VENDELLES RD commenced. Patrols were at once pushed forward to ascertain the position of enemy - as to whether he was holding the Chateau at VADENCOURT NE of BIHECOURT. Patrols reported the CHATEAU clear of enemy, but MAISSEMY was still held by him. On receipt of this information one Company was pushed forward in line with CHATEAU with orders to hold CHATEAU with 2 platoons until relieved. In connection with these operations one Company of 2/5 Gloucesters attacked with 2/4 ROYAL BERKS and had as its objective BIHECOURT village. This was captured and a line established in front NE side of village. This Company was under orders of OC 2/4ROYAL BERKS. As a result of these operations a number of enemy dead were counted and the Battn took 3 wounded and 3 unwounded prisoners and one Machine Gun. The Battalion was at night relieved by 2/5 Gloucesters, relief completed about midnight 2/3rd. Wounded 11 OR of whom 3 died of wounds.
