During the day 20 P.W's including 14 German Air Force personnel were rounded up in the WOODS in the concentration area. The presence of so many German stragglers behind our lines was a common daily occurance. 1800: The C.O. received information from the Brigade Commander that the town of BLECKEDE 0026 was held by 15 (S) DIV, who wanted to be relieved. As this town was just inside our bde LEFT boundary, the C.O. was ordered to have the battalion ready to move there at one hours notice. Consequently the C.O. ordered the battalion to be ready to move, and all load carrying tpt to be off loaded, as the battalion would have to move itself in its own M.T. The information about BLEKEDE 0026 turned out to be entirely false, and the battalion did not move. Reference to Appendices: REF MAP 1:100,000 SHT M5 SALZWEDEL. REF MAP 1:100,000 SHT L5 LAUENBURG
