Entry 0400: The Main Body of the Battalion under the command of the Bn 2 I/c left RAHDEN 6027 for BEHREN 8669 in R.A.S.C. tpt. 1500: Main body arrived BEHREN 8669 1800: C.O's 'O' Group. The C.O. reviewed the present tactical situation. The town of UELZEN 8989 had just been cleared by 15 (S) DIV, and it was the Divisional Commander's intention that 5 DIV would now advance to the RIVER ELBE at best possible speed, with 17 INF BDE on the RIGHT, and 13 INF BDE on the LEFT. Within the bde, 5 ESSEX were on the RIGHT, 2 CAMERONIANS on the LEFT, and 2 WILTS in reserve. In the meantime the 5 Recce Regt had secured the line BEVERSEN 9002, OITZENDORF 9597, STOCKEN 9794.
