Entry 0445: All the vehicles of the Battalion under the command of the C.O. left LOKEREN 3784 en route for a forward concentration area, which had now changed to the area of RAHDEN 6027 EAST of OSNABRUCK, the raod [sic] party did approx 200 miles on this day, and stayed the night 14/15 just SOUTH of GOCH. No vehicle was lost on this part of the journey. The Div was now u/c 2 BRIT ARMY. 0530: The Main Body of the battalion left LOKEREN in two parts, first party left ST PIETERS STA GHENT under the command of MAJOR R. LUCAS and arrived at GOCH at approx 1900 hrs, and was accomodated in the town of GOCH itself, the remainder of the journey was done in army R.A.S.C. tpt. 1200: A Goodwill message from the BURGOMASTER of LOKEREN was received by members of the battalion who still remained behind there, in reply to a letter sent by the Commanding Officer, thaning [sic] the BURGOMASTER, and the people of LOKEREN for the hospitality shown by them. The Burgomaster's reply was translated and published in Battalion Orders dated 17 Apr 45. Reference to Appendices: D/1 D/2 J/13 - 14.
