Entry | A message was received from the PRIME MINISTER congratulating Allied Armies in 21 Army Group on the crossing of the Rhine, and promised them that decisive victory in Europe was near at hand. Major A.W.S. Hooley left with the Bde Comd and the C.O's of the other two Bn's to be attached to the units of 49th (NORTH MIDLAND) DIVISION, who were holding the island between NIJMEGEN & ARNHEM. The object of this visit was to give C.O's some idea of the country in that area as it was likely that 5 Div would relieve 49 Div, 13 Inf Bde moving up on the 8th Apr 45.
