Entry | The C.O. issued Training Directive No.11. He laid down that special attention would be paid to village, and house fighting and to training in the use of flame equipment. In addition all ranks would do a route march of more than 10 miles once a week. Coys would also practice the Night Attack drill once a week. 1300: The C.O. went on leave and Major A.W.S. HOOLEY, officiated in command of the Bn during his absence. 1700: The C-in-C 21 Army Group, FIELD-MARSHALL SIR BERNARD L. MONTGOMERY, KCB, DSO talked to all officers, WO's and Senior NCO's of the Division in GHENT. Prior to his address he inspected and addressed a Guard of Honour which included men from this Bn. In compliance with 21 Army Group orders the Bn stopped using white blanco and started to use green instead. The "Drums" and Regt Police were permitted to continue to use white blanco.
