| Entry | 1800: A Cocktail Party and Dance was held at the officers Club, SARAFAND. Guests included MAJOR GENERAL D.N. WIMBERLEY CBE, D.S.O., MC. The G.O.C. MAJOR GENERAL R.A.HULL D.S.O., BRIGADIER R.W.H. LAMBERT C.B.E. the heads of staffs and the C.O's and representative Offrs from all the units in the Division. It was a great success. This was also the first appearance in public of the Regimental Drums since the arrival of the instruments from the Depot five weeks before. They beat Retreat on a floodlit lawn which created a great impression on all spectators. Dance music was supplied by the Regimental Dance Band. |
