| Entry | Exercise "BRUSSELS I". This was an inter-battalion exercise in which this battalion occupied defensive positions as Germans, while we were opposed by 5 ESSEX. The object of this exercise was to exercise comds in making quick decisions and in rapid planning; to practice all phases of the encounter battle; to practice occupation of a defensive position. The battalion took up positions during the night of the 20th and the exercise ended at approx 2000hrs on 21st and the battalion marched the 18 miles back to camp.
