Entry	A very quiet day. There was no shelling or mortaring the whole time. Our ambush patrols went out at stand to and at about 2200hrs a German patrol was seen and successfully shot up a quarter of an hour later. Unfortunately fire was opened at rather too long a range, and the Boche was able to make a getaway. Taking his casualties with him.
