Regiment | 2nd Wiltshire |
---|---|
Location | Anzio, Italy |
Entry | 0545: A single German made an attack on a forward section belonging to 'C' but was quickly shot dead, but he succeeded in wounding one of our men. The day passed quietyly [sic], the only discomfort being caused by the rain which fortunately ceased in the late afternoon. 1800: C Coy area was shelled by a single gun, but caused no damage or casualties. During the day the CAMERONIANS on our right had taken a prisoner, who had been on the patrols to SHEEP PEN FARM, and he was quite ready to give any information we required, including the route taken by the patrol, and accordingly adjustments were made to the positions of our standing patrols. |
