Entry Desultery shelling and mortaring throughout the night. Rain had ceased by first light, but ground was still difficult. 3 wounded B Coy. 1100hrs: Number of mortar bombs landed in area of C Coy (816304). LIEUT K. LYNCH wounded in face and legs. 1530hrs: Enemy shelled S Coy area (820297). 20 shells 11 of which were duds. NO casualties. 1900hrs: Ambush patrol from B Coy under L/S BROWN ran into uncharted minefield laid by a previous unit. 1 man killed and 1 wounded. Patrol had to return. Enemy fired on tracks used by maintenance parties with no effect.
