Entry At first light 2 INNISKS urgently ask for support and the Squadron of Sherman Tanks moves across to engage enemy tanks of which they claim to knock out one at long range. 0900hrs approx. Enemy Arty shells Bn HQ at FARM 893683 while our Arty O.P. fires on suspected enemy gun positions and O.Ps starting two good fires. At this time 2 CAMERONIANS passed across FORD to take over the positions of 2 INNISKS who come into reserve. 2 INNISKS had been forced back across the SEMETO RIVER about 0800hrs after suffering considerable casualties from enemy tanks, arty, mortar and automatic fire. About 1300hrs Bn HQ moves to RIVER BANK at 898687
