Location D +3 day, [Priolo], Sicily
Entry NO 'Stand-TO' 0900hrs approx. in a dog fight a German Junkers 88 and a Spitfire were shot down, the Junkers jettisoning its bombs which fell around us, one blind falling into the Bde HQ area. 1330hrs. Bn moves by march route to MELLILI, being strafed on the road by M.E. 109s but without suffering any casualties. 1550hrs. Bn arrives at MELLILI. 1625hrs. O.P. sees barrage supporting 15 Bde attack towards VILLASMUNDO. ITALIAN Ps/W continue to arrive and by morning of 14 Jul we have seventy. Three GERMANS of HERMAN GOERING ARTY are brought in about 2230hrs and are sent straight back to Div HQ and give valuable information about the new 75mm S.P. Gun. The Bn spends a quiet night and greatly benefits by the rest.
