Entry [27-28th] 0830: B Coy relieved W COY of 5 ESSEX on the Russian frontier as the ESSEX were leaving this Division, and joining the 43rd (WESSEX) DIV. LIEUT. COLONEL E.A. HEFFORD DSO and 100 representatives (all ranks) of this Bn visited the 4TH BN THE WILTSHIRE REGIMENT on invitation from their Commanding Officer. The party were accomodated for the night and returned to the Bn the following day. A soccer match was arranged between the two Bns, this time the 2nd Bn winning by 5 goals to 1. Throughout this month the Commanding Officer held a series of drill parades. The object being to smarten up the arms and foot drill of all ranks of the Bn in readiness for the proposed TROOPING OF THE COLOUR CEREMONY. Reference to appendices: J2, 5, 11, 17, 19, and 21. E.A.
