Entry | & 15th. Heavy rain. 2/Lieut Brooks C.R. patrol rejoins unit P.M. 14th July '44. Report as follows: Water, so essential was found in all the chungs along patrol route. The tracks are suitable for mules and infantry. Inhabitants very friendly sold us rice, Bananas, Eggs, Chickens etc for a few Annas. At TULATUL patrol heard that many small children had died, apparently from Malaria. The Medical Orderley attended to many sick people, many of whom had jungle sores. Reference to Appendices None. |
