Entry | Patrol under Lieut Barber arrived in Unit Lines P.M. 7th. Report as follows: It was found along the whole route that villagers were most friendly and favourably disposed to British Troops. Headmen were interviewed by L/c Baw Tha Den (BIC attd 1/Wilts) who accompanied patrol as interpreter. At MAUIVI, villagers said we were first British Troops to be seen there. No shortage of Rice, and food etc but villagers would NOT sell fruit or eggs to B.T. Two medical units situated at Redwynbin (No 23 CCS) and I.M.F.T.U. hospital. It was discovered that villagers were short of medical supplies and the medical orderly of the patrol tended to many sick people. The whole route was found to be a good one, passable to mules, but most dangerous in Monsoon weather, as the Chaungs would be turned into swift running rivers. Distance covered by patrol 24 1/2 miles. G III (Ops) visited Bn Ref N C Y augmenting Cartridges. Offrs 1/Wilts invited by 2/7 Rajputs to dinner. C.O. (Lt Col Faithfull) stillsick. Normal Training.
