Entry 0630 hrs. A coy relieved B Coy on HARDY. 0715 hrs. Standing Patrol to Pt 452419 feature occupied. They were met with M.G. fire and withdrew. No casualties. MMG Pl of 8 FF Regt established in support of D Coy on LAUREL. 0800 hrs. Arty Barrage concentrated on BUN again. Successful barrage. 0300 hrs. C coy moves to fwd posns. 0655 hrs. BARREL attacked by Japs which was repulsed. Enemy dead positive 4 probably more. 0930 hrs. Air Strike by V.D.B. on BUN. Successful, but Japs must have excellent positions dug deep into the earth and there was still strong opposition there after such intense shelling and Dive Bombing. 1255 - 1330 hrs. 155MM enemy gun shelled area of road by ITALY - Letwedet Ch. 1345 hrs. Recce party to BUN held up by enemy in bulge of Letwedet Chaung. 1800 hrs. Further Patrol sent to exploit N.E. slopes. 1805 hrs. Shelling M/B road.
