Entry 1200 hrs. Report from Capt. STEPHENSON, OC Det ARRAH:- (a) Successful raid on JAGDISPUR night 24/25. Congress leaders house which was being used as a Congress office was burnt and following loot confiscated, 3 sacks wheat, 7 sacks rice, 3 sacks tobacco, 2-12 bore shot guns, 44 rds. amn, 1 lethal cartridge, 3 cartridge making instruments and 1-22 rifle. (b) Attempt to loot ry goods stn ARRAH 1900 hrs. 25 Aug. Looters took ONE steel bar. Curfew re-imposed 1900 hrs. vice 2000 hrs. 2300 hrs. Two Natives approached south bank of the SON.N. near SDO bungalow DINAPORE in boat. When about to land they heard voices of other Natives on shore so turned about. Two sentries endeavoured to stop them by shouting, then by two shots. They escaped, no casualties. Reference to Appendices None.
