Entry 0100 hrs. SDO reported 3 natives armed with spears prowling round his compound (next to O.C. 1 Wilts bungalow). They were chased away by servants 0900 hrs. D Coy reports fish-plates removed from railway line between PATNA CITY Stn and PATNA JUNCTION stn. Patrol train escorted 4 dead engines from FATWA to DINAPORE. They showed very definite attempts to destroy instruments. Copper and brass had been removed 0910 hrs. LT. WILKINSON departed with escort and two 3 ton lorries to collect loot at BIHTA returning 1230 hrs. Road clear and no incidents 1300 hrs. Pl of Y & Ls arrived DINAPORE with patrol train proceeding direct to PATNA to rejoin unit. 1330 hrs. C Coy (less 1 P.L) proceeded to ARRAH 1430 hrs. 2/Lt. GALLAWAY reported for duty on first posting 1430 hrs. 2/Lt. HEARN, GHURKHA Rifles reported from GAYA to collect sealed packets which had NOT been received from 15 IND Corps. 1500 hrs.Lt.Col. THOMAS returned from ARRAH with A Coy report. 1600 hrs. 2/Lt. HEARN GHURKA Rifles departed for GAYA. 1700 hrs. 17 Pl patrol train arrived DINAPORE from BAHR.
