| Entry | 0800 hrs. SDM reports DINAPORE quiet but information has been received that procession will form in DINAPORE afternoon 16 Aug. SDM handed in translation of Congress instructions found in pocket of man arrested at NAUBATPUR.[Copy attached as Appendix VIII] 1000 hrs. Two trucks with two secs. D Coy leave DINAPORE with SDM to escort prisoners to PATNA jail. Guard on jail removed. Information in message from EAST ARM that B Coy left JHAJHA by train 1155 hrs 13 Aug - no trace since. 1055 hrs. Escort for prisoners returned from PATNA. No incidents. 11.30 hrs. Information received that Y & L Ry patrol encountered party sabotaging ry. line at SADIOSOPUR and opened fire, inflicting 6 casualties, 4 fatal, on evening 15 AUG. Also encountered looters at BHITA, inflicting approx. 5 fatal casualties. Found military supplies from looted train in houses and brought back some stores. 1445 hrs. Pl D Coy with SDM and police left to move through DINAPORE bazaar, break up mobs, and take arrests. 1530 hrs. Capt STEPHENSON, OC A Coy arrives from ARRAH, with escort and police.[Reports from ARRAH attached as Appx. IX) 1545 hrs. Staff Captain Q, HQ Army L of C Area, arrives. Both W/T sets to be transferred PATNA. Offr. required for cipher duties. 1600 hrs.Lt Col L.C. THOMAS, C.O. reports placed sick in quarters. Major R. ASHLEY officiating in command. 1645 hrs. Message from OC SONEPORE DET, BN.W.R. AF(I) received reporting serious trouble SONEPORE. Passed to HQ ARMY L of C AREA. 1700 hrs. Pl D Coy returns from DINAPORE BAZAAR. No incidents during patrol - all quiet. About 12 arrests made. 1700 hrs. Capt STEPHENSON departs for ARRAH. 1715 hrs. YORKS and LANCS patrol reports they have cleared road through DIGHA. 2045 hrs. OC D Coy Y & L Regt reports patrol train which left DINAPORE for MOKAMEH 14 Aug returned DINAPORE STA 1900 hrs with 4 trains. 2045 hrs. Report received from Capt I.L.E.
