Entry 0005 hrs.. W/T commn. EAST ARM failed 0200 hrs. Situation report received from Capt. STEPHENSON at ARRAH. [Attd as appx. V] 7 days rations and petrol sent to A Coy. 0530 hrs. D Coy relieve Capt Duttons Coy on perimeter. Pl in POLO SQUARE withdrawn to reserve. 0700 hrs. W/T commn. re-established with RANCHI. 0900 hrs. Note re Rule 144 received from SDM. It was promulgated in DINAPORE on evening of 13 Aug. 1100 hrs. One pl D Coy (comd Lieut AFFLECK) proceed through DINAPORE bazaar on foot accompanied by SDM and police to make arrests and enforce Rule 144. 1340 hrs. Pl D Coy returns. Bazaar road cleared of blocks and fairly peaceful. Twelve arrests made. Patrol successful. 1515 hrs. Pl D Coy with SDM leaves down rd DINAPORE-MANER. 1710 hrs. Pl D Coy returns. Reports dak bungalow damaged MANER and shotgun stolen with 20 rds. Rd clear of trees, but culvert being broken 3 miles EAST side MANER. No damage to aerodrome. 2000 hrs. Report from SDM that BIHTA ry stn and 75(?) military wagons looted. All trains passing through are being looted. Reference to Appendices Attd as appx V.
