Entry 6pm. Weather fine. Strength. 24 Officers 747 OR. Detached 9 Officers 94 OR. 2 OR rejoined for detachment, 1 OR to detachment. Observation. 3 men left CAKLI and went towards CAKLI WOOD at 0900 hours. Patrols. Major HODGSON, Lts GOLDIE and RUTTER and 6 OR made a reconnaissance of ground towards CEMETRY WOOD. Patrol went by way of BREST MILL and crossed the HODZA SUJU 400* below BREST BRIDGE. When within 300* of the REDOUBT rifle fire was opened by enemy and patrol withdrew.
