Entry 6pm. Weather fine. The days are now growing hotter and flies are beginning to make their appearance, especially on the plain. Strength. 20 Officers 876 OR. Detached 5 Officers 96 OR. Observation. Night. Light seen in BREST for short time at 0100. Day. 0525 four groups of men seen going up road N.W. of LONG WOOD and entering nullah. 0700 12 waggons drawn by oxen seen on DOIRAN - CERNISTI RD travelling towards DOIRAN. Steady motor traffic all day on road behind enemy lines. Army Commander visited sector.
