'C' Coy 32412 " EBISON G W. 1 OR wounded, 'C' Coy 15095 Pte WHITEHEAD G. 1 OR to Hospital. Observation. Night. At 2155 lights seen on GRAND COURONNE apparently signalling. Verry lights seemed to be sent up from second line and not first line. Enemy intensely bombarded our front line trenches at 2100 and 2200 for five minutes. Result 1 OR killed. No damage to trenches. Lewis and Vickers guns fired at frequent and irregular intervals on enemy wire to prevent working parties from repairing it. Day. Our artillery continued bombardment of enemys trenches and wire cutting. Enemy replied with shrapnel and HE over our whole line throughout the day. 56 5.9 HE shells fell in vicinity of Bn HQRS, enemy obviously searching for wire cutting battery C114 in JUMEAUX RAVINE. The Battery had three men wounded but no damage to guns. Slight damage to CT B6. All telephone wires in CT B6 cut. Our casualties 1 OR killed 1 OR wounded. |
