Entry 6pm. Weather fine but cold. Strength. 29 Officers 897 OR. Detached 7 Officers 82 OR. 3 OR rejoined from 10th Entrenching Battalion. Observation. Night. Quiet. Enemy sending up Verry lights continually. Day. 15 HE Shells from enemy field gun on B4 between 0700 - 1500. Our artillery began the bombardment of the enemy trenches and wire cutting and continued throughout the day. Enemy did not reply strongly.
