Entry | 6pm. Weather fine. Strength. 27 Officers 903 OR. Detached 9 Officers 87 OR. 5 OR joined from Base 1 OR rejoined from Hospital. Observation. Night. 2000 to 2400 sniping from right of O2 our M.Gs replied. 2240 one of our aeroplanes went over in due N. direction. Enemy searchlight tried to locate it and anti-aircraft guns fired from E of GRAND COURONNE. 2400 5 T.M shells burst half way between O2 and B8. Observation. Day. 0500 - 0600 much sniping and M.G fire from O1 and O2. 0710 enemy aeroplane over our lines, returning 0725. Between 1500 and 1530 enemy were registering on PATTY RAVINE, about a dozen HE and shrapnel from 4.2 howitzer. Enemy fired 6 HE shells at a party by the lake at 1500. The usual movements were seen in and round DOIRAN during the day. |
