| Entry | 6pm. Weather fine. Strength. 27 Officers 897 OR. Detached 9 Officers 88 OR. 1 OR killed (4.4.17) No 32406 Pte CATCHPOLE E.G. 1 Officer (Capt C.K. HULBERT) and 4 OR to Gas School for Instruction. Observation. Night. Intermittent sniping during the night also machine gun fire from O1 which traversed our parapets at half hourly intervals until 0100. 0340 Blast sent up extreme right of O2. Day. Fairly brisk sniping started from three points on O2 and continued for about half an hour. Enemy wire on right of O2 has been strengthened during the week. Some new wire has also been put up on DOIRAN HILL. |
