Front shelled at intervals throughout the night by field gun. At 2210 patrol reported small working party left of O2 which was dispersed by Lewis gun. Day. .Whole front heavily shelled at intervals throughout the day by field gun. 15 HE on DOIRAN ROAD, foot of BASING HILL between 1400 and 1500. A new M.G. emplacement is being put in about the centre of O1. 5 men were seen in the afternoon lying on the grass about 200yds to the right of the junction of the DOIRAN-VOLEVER ROAD, the artillery were informed and fired on them but only succeeded in dispersing them. |
