Entry 6 pm. Weather fine and sunny. Sharp frost in morning. Strength. 29 Officers 916 OR Detached 14 Officers 100 OR. 3 OR wounded (22.1.17), 15075 Pte EVANS G F, 14308 Pte BREAKSPEAR P, 15050 Pte JACKSON A (all 'D' Coy). Latter died of wounds at 78th FA 22.1.17. 1 OR struck off strength. Observation. Night. Front lightly shelled during night, 3 casualties to our working parties. Enemy working party 20 strong located by patrol west of O2, dispersed by our artillery with 7 rounds. Day. Very quiet. Enemy aircraft over at 1335 and 1535.
