Entry 6 pm. Weather fine but cold. Sharp frost in morning. Strength. 29 Officers 920 OR Detached 14 Officers 98 OR. 1 OR to Hospital, 2 OR struck off strength, 1 OR rejoined from detachment. Observation. Night. Enemy flares went up intermittently the whole night. Patrols reported all quiet. Day. Our No3 LG silenced enemy snipers at stand to. At 1530 8 shrapnel shells from enemy field gun burst 200 yards in front of right sector wire, evidently testing barrage. G.O.C. Division accompanied by G.O.C. Brigade visited left sector trenches during morning.
