Entry 6 pm. Weather Wet Strength 27 officers 890 OR Detached 10 officers 68 OR 1 OR struck off the Strength 1 OR wounded 1 OR to Hospital 1 OR Rejoined from Hospital. Captain G A C OSBORN and 10 OR proceeded on leave to England. Observation Night. At 2115 an enemy working party opposite B4 suddenly opened fire on our trenches with rifle and Machine gun fire, strength of party estimated at about 30. A number of shrapnel Shells were also thrown over 1 OR slightly wounded at 2125 all firing ceased. Enemies working parties were active during the night. Day. Blasting heard in enemies trenches at 0600. Enemy lightly shelled our trenches at 0900 and 1530.
