Entry | 6 pm. From 2115 to 2330 artillery and rifle fire was heard behind PETIT COURONNE at 2400 several bombs and some rifle fire was heard to left of our trenches at 0015 enemies Patrol threw several bombs into ravine in front of SIOMME otherwise night was quiet. At 0515 usual movement of enemy on PETIT COURONNE was observed. Enemies snipers fired at A Coys trenches. From 1015 to 1115 enemies mountain guns registering in front of their own trenches. At 1545 enemy shelled A Coy trenches with HE and shrapnel. Weather fine. Strength 32 officers and 882 OR detached 5 officers 67 OR 5 OR to Hospital 1 OR struck off the strength. L.J.
