Entry 6 pm. About 50 shells fell on our Front during the day, one dugout with 12 men in was blown in and 4 men buried but were dug out one man was slightly wounded Weather wet. About 0015 on night of 30/31st Heavy rifle fire was opened on our left flank by an enemy patrol. Fire continued up to 0100 when patrol retired. Casualties 1 man wounded Strength 33 officers 889 OR detached 4 officers 67 OR 2 OR to Hospital 1 OR (wounded) to Hospital L J Fairchild Capt Adjt 7th Wilts Regt
