| Entry | Church of England, R.C. and other denominational services in the morning. We had to send two parties of 250 men each to dig a redoubt in RUE DE L'EPINETTE, 5 miles each way. In addition, we had to find 7 bridge guards and Brigade HQ guard, besides our own guards. These conditions DO NOT allow of the dictum, that energetic training of all branches is to be carried out during the periods of rest, to be fulfilled. |
