Entry 10am. On September 22nd 1915 the 7th (S) Battalion Wilts Regiment marched out of SUTTON VENY at 3 pm and entrained for FOULKESTONE sic [FOLKESTONE]. FOULKESTONE sic [FOLKESTONE] was reached at 10.30pm and the regiment at once embarked for BOULOGNE which was reached at 1.30 am 23.9.15. The crossing was calm. On disembarking the regiment marched about 3 miles to a rest camp above BOULOGNE reached at about 2.30am 23.9.15. Parade was ordered at 1pm and the Battalion marched to the Central Station BOULOGNE and entrained for SALEAUX arriving at 8.15 pm From SALEAUX we marched to COURCELLES and billeted for the night reaching our Billets about 12 pm, the weather during this day was very hot and during the march to COURCELLES very heavy rain was experienced.
