Entry Battalion relieved 9th Royal Welch Fusiliers in left subsector of DIEPENDAAL Sector - 2 Platoons of 'B' Company in front line from O.7.c 1/9 - O.7.a.9.5. And 2 Platoons in New Reserve Line from N.12.b.9.8. To O.1.c.3.1. 'C' Company in front line from O.7.b.1/2.5 to O.7.b.6.91/2. 'A' Company in Redoubts as follows - WESTERN Redoubt N.12.a.80.95 - SOUTHERN Redoubt N.12.b.3.5. EASTERN Redoubt O.1.c.2.0. S.P.7 Redoubt O.1.c.2.0. 'D' Company in Reserve as follows - 1 Platoon at N.12a.95.95. 1 Platoon at N12a.9.9. 1 Platoon N12a.95.98 and the other Platoon from N.12a.95.98 to N.12b.4.7. Enemy artillery at intervals shelled RIDGE WOOD and area at N.5.a.8.8. Between hours of 9.30 and 11a.m. Our artillery were cutting with 18 pounders Trench Mortars assisting. Enemy retaliated strongly with Minenwerfern and rifle grenades. T.M. Bombs sent over by enemy several times during day and night. Our casualties were 9 wounded and 2 killed.
