Regiment 6th Wiltshire
Location France, In the Trenches
Entry A bright fine day - an extensive amount of work was done by both in firing line and old British Line. The trenches were left in a bad condition by the previous Brigade which took a considerable amount of time to clean up. The right fire Company ('A' Company) were shelled during the afternoon but suffered no casualties. In the evening patrols reported German working parties which were fired on by our Artillery with what is thought to be with successful results. Working parties from the Fusiliers Pioneers and the R.E's were sent to assist in building up the firing line parapet and continuing the old breastwork. Remarks; MAP SHEET BETHUNE COMBINED
