War Diary

1915-11-14
Regiment 6th Wiltshire
Location France, In the Trenches, Richborg St Vaast
Entry 14th - 16th Weather greatly improved and hard frosts were experienced at nights. Working parties of 100 men each every morning from the 57th Brigade who were in Reserve at Locon were found to be great assistance in constructing dugouts and affecting repairs. Owing to the state of the communication trenches and the Battalion being under strength very little work could be done in [sentence not finished in diary] In the daytime no large bodies of troops could be moved with safety up to the firing line as the communication trenches were impassable. All rations and material, therefore, had to be taken up at night.
