| Entry | 'D' company and headquarters left GUK TAPPAH at 7.0a.m and proceeded to KIRKUK (22 miles). Rain fell during the march, an made the marching very difficult but KIRKUK was reached by 4.15p.m after a halt of one hour at YARVALI for dinner. A post of 40 B.O.R under Lieut N. KAINES was dropped at KALUR (16 miles from KIRKUK) en route. On arrival at KIRKUK Headquarters and 'D' Company went into TURKISH Barracks. |
