Entry | It being finally decided that the main defensive position be on Right Bank AQ SU [River] work commenced and the following scheme of defences adopted vide sketch map APPENDIX I. Positions being dug for two battalions but occupied in case of emergency by the Battalion as under:- A. 1 Company holding hills and distributed as follows:- At SWINDON POST one platoon. " MID POST one platoon. " ROUND HILL Half Company with company headquarters. B. 1 Company Sector from L1 to L6 inclusive with S1 and S2 troops disposed as follows:- L's 1,2,3,5,6 each one section. L4 two Sections. S2 one platoon. S1 (Company Hd Qrs) five Sections. C. 1 Company Sector from L7 inclusive to Right Bank AQ SU disposed as follows:- L7, L8 each one Section. L9 one platoon less 1 N.C.O. and 6 men who will form a post at D1 80/70 covering nullahs and river bank. PILLAR POST and the PIMPLE each 1 N.C.O and 6 men or half Section. S3 two Sections. S4 (Company Hd Qrs) seven Sections. Reserve 1 Company about C2 50/90 in large nullahs. Battalion Headquarters B1 97/10. |
