Location Mesopotamia, Tuz
Entry Left KULUWAND as advanced guard to the column at 2.45a.m with 1st Line pack transport only and moved on TUZ. About 3.30a.m firing was heard from direction of TUZ and about 4.0a.m the vanguard came under machine gun fire and turned eastwards to occupy the hills. A. B and C Companies gained the heights and worked along towards TUZ under accurate fire from machine guns and snipers D Company in reserve. Guns ordered up in support shelled strong points which was holding up the advance with good effect and it was possible for the battalion to advance driving the enemy from the hills to the plains where many were captured. TUZ was captured by the column about 8.0a.m. Leaving 'A' Company as outposts on the hills the remainder of the battalion concentrated with the column on the left bank AQ SU immediately S of TUZ. Casualties throughout the operations 1 B.O.R wounded.
