| Entry | Left bivouac 1/2 mile S of P.1. Central with 1st line Transport only and advanced on DELI ABBAS sic [DELLI ABBAS] supporting 8 Royal Welsh Fusiliers on our left. Armoured Cars and Cyclists. The enemy made but slight opposition, keeping two small guns in action with shrapnel and H.E but causing no casualties. We occupied DELI ABBAS sic [DELLI ABBAS] about 10.30a.m and commenced the consolidation of Piquet Line forthwith our right resting on KHALIS CANAL at S4 MUBARAK and our left at P2a 2/2 T.C. 93b with Headquarters immediately North of DELI ABBAS sic [DELLI ABBAS]. Desultory shelling of mound TEL SHAKRAN by Turks caused no casualties. Second Line transport joined Battalion at DELI ABBAS sic [DELLI ABBAS] at 4.30p.m. The next few days were spent in consolidation of position, all Companies working well and some splendid trenches were dug. |
