Entry Wednesday Left S18 with all transport at 5a.m advanced about 13 miles to large nullah near FORT HUSAINI whence an attempt was made to bridge the TIGRIS. The TURKS dug in on the left bank of the TIGRIS opened with machine guns and prevented a crossing being made. We retired about 4 miles and bivouaced for the night. 2 casualties
