Entry The Battalion was inspected by the C in C Lieut-Gen Sir P.H.N. Lake K.C.B. C.M.G. who congratulated officers and men on their work at FALAHIYET and SANNAIYAT. He mentioned that the Battalion was among the few regiments to have got several men into the enemy trenches at the latter place. Strength 13 Officers 399 other Ranks. Battn paraded daily at 5.45.p.m marching up to Bde Reserve before BEIT AIEESA sic [BAIT ISA] where digging was carried on in two reliefs. 1st party 8p.m to midnight. 2nd party midnight to 4a.m. The Battn arriving back in camp 6.30a.m.
