Entry GULLY BEACH H.Q. party arrived MUDROS and proceeded to PORTAINOS Camp. During the day the enemy subjected fire and support trenches to violent and sustained bombardment, the most severe in force and duration yet experienced on the Peninsula. The enemy were seen showing fixed bayonets in their trenches and a weak attack began in the direction of the 39th Bde. The Bn. Details were ordered to the ESKI lines as reinforcements and carried up supply of bombs etc. Since enemy attack did not develop, party was ordered back to embark at W Beach that night.
